RESOURCES AND INFORMATION
WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MICRO-CREDENTIAL?
When the credentials are issued you will get an email with information about how to embed the credential on a webpage, resume, or LinkedIn profile. You can use these clickable micro-credentials to highlight your skills to any potential employer.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE SKILLS ASSESSMENT?
We are happy to help connect you with our training partners. We also provide extensive resources and videos for each of our credentials. Visit the credentials page to learn more.
HOW ARE MICRO-CREDENTIALS DIFFERENT THAN CERTIFICATES OR DEGREES?
Micro-credentials are focused on individual skills. They are an addition to any degrees you may earn. While a certificate or degree is very broad and non-specific, our micro-credentials document the specific skills for which you have attained mastery. In addition, while you are seeking a degree or certificate which may be long-term, you can begin to earn the micro-credentials as you go making it easier to get employed while finishing your education.
HOW DO I SIGN UP TO TAKE A SKILLS ASSESSMENT?
Contact the BCSI team and we can share upcoming testing events. We can also provide small group or individual testing as needed by your organization. We are eager to work with you to set up pricing and an arrangement that meets your needs.
WHAT IF I FAIL THE ASSESSMENT?
Like all tests, it is possible that you could fail one or more of your skills assessments. If so, a representative from the BCSI team will contact you with several options. The most common solution chosen by others has been to take some time to polish skills and take the tests again six to eight weeks later. The BCSI team can partner you with a training organization in your region or help you find online materials to practice if you choose to pursue a self-study plan.
